George Weedon 1948 Olympian

1948 Olympians Series

I was saddened to hear the passing of the wonderful George Weedon in February.

I photographed and interviewed George Weedon for my 1948 Olympian's project which I shot to coincide with the London Olympics in 2012.

I loved hearing his stories from that time, a very different sporting landscape from what we see today. One that stuck in my mind was him teaching his wife floor routines (for the Olympics) on their carpet at home!.

Such a lovely man

Thank you George!
