David Bailey style portraits
On a recent commission photographing corporate portraits my client on the day Jay asked whether I would mind doing some personal portraits for him after the shoot.
He had mentioned in a previous meeting that he really like the shots David Bailey took of Michael Caine in the 60's. That was our template and here are some of the final shots...they are little more Richard Avedon than Bailey really but Jay was happy.
It was great playing with the hard light and showdow, creatively placing these in different places on the face. Rankin uses a similiar style but often shoots from lower down with a wideish lens…
