Exploring the natural light at the Freemantle offices in central London was a delightful experience. The skylight at the top of the building worked perfectly on that rainy London morning, casting a soft glow that enhanced the surroundings. The opportunity to take Martin's portrait in this setting was ideal; on a typical sunny day, extra lighting would have been necessary, but the overcast and somewhat dull weather created the perfect conditions for capturing a striking image.

Martin had a natural sunny disposition so I had no need to ask him to do anything specific. I like to try and shoot in more than one area/ format to give the client plenty of choice when the come to use the portraits. The staitcase worked well with the soft light falling on him and also allowed for an interesting framing using the bannister and walls which lead the eye to the person in the portrait.
